Twelve minutes that hold
A long-form explainer in personal finance, shot in a single sitting with no B-roll plan and no beats marked in the script.
- The brief
- Take a raw twelve-minute talking-head recording and make it hold attention to the end — without adding footage that does not exist.
- The decisions
- Restructured into three acts around one question. The cold open lifted from minute nine, where the strongest line was buried. Two tangents cut entirely. Chapter breaks placed where retention curves usually collapse, not at the topic changes.
- What it demonstrates
- That structure, not effects, is what carries a viewer past the halfway point. Nothing in this edit could have been fixed with a transition.
